Forest Hill organizes with 48 charter members at Patrick Henry Elementary School. The church grows out of a church-planting mission started in March by East Hanover Presbytery.

Property at 41st and Boscobel Avenue is purchased for $2,500. After remodeling by men of the church, the building is used beginning in October 1925.
James C. Faw, a student at Union Theological Seminary who had been preaching for the presbytery’s planting mission, is ordained and installed as pastor.
Rev. Howard Cobbs, pastor from 1939-1944, is instrumental in acquiring the Old Kemp House, our present site, for $7,500. The two-story frame house with wrap-around front porch is used for Sunday school classes while worship services are still held at 41st Street. The barn is renovated for Sunday school and other programs.
The first service in the new sanctuary is held. The original windows were pastel-colored glass. Stained glass memorial windows are installed in the 1960s and ’70s by Willet Studios in Philadelphia.
Fannie Pharr starts the Child Care Center, which becomes a ministry of our church in 1974.
The Second Mile Endowment Fund is established for benevolent giving beyond the church budget.
More mission partners join our Child Care Center and the AA group in using the building, such as the El Shaddai Fellowship and the Forest Hill Neighborhood Association.

The Jack Bare Prayer Garden is created in the church courtyard.
The labyrinth and butterfly garden are dedicated to Cindy Creasy and Rowe’s Canopy Row to Maurice Rowe.
New hymnals memorialize Chic Lyttle and Virginia Wrenn. Expanded butterfly habitat memorializes Virginia Wrenn.
